wired and wireless broadband - mix and match?

I'm on bt broadband and I emailed them days ago but haven't had a reply (unsurprisingly.)
My question is: I have two computers sharing the broadband connection; one attached to abthomenetwork 1200 modem via USB and phone line and the second via PC adaptor, one end into a USB and other into extension phone line. (I believe this BT router/modem networking system is slightly unusual ) It all works fine. I want to connect my laptop to broadband, but obviously wirelessly. Can I do this? The modem has space for a wireless card and my laptop's up to date enough; I'd just like to know if that can work in addition to the system I have between the two PC's already set up? Many thanks
