  nelie 09:03 19 Feb 04

trying tpo set up wired network between two xp computers at work. comp1 is recognising both when i ping it but comp2 does not recognise the other one only itself. TCP/IP numbers are set, they have different names and the hardware(realtek) is working properly?
any ideas?

Does PC 2 have a firewall installed or XP's firewall enabled?? If yes disable then try again

Sometimes you need to re-run the network setup wizard - espaecially if you're using XP Home. When it says "let windows configure..." say no then make sure ONLY the right network card is ticked. Don't let it bridge 2 adapters (eg it will try to bridge with a firewire port).
