Wired LAN connectivity problems

Have a Netgear Modem/Router DG834PN

Have 3 desktops connected 2 via wired LAN, 1 via wireless and a further laptop via wireless.

One of the LAN connected PC's keeps getting connectivity issue, and loses internet etc. All others fine

It is intermittent and have tried following which do seem to get things working but only for a period of time.

1) Have unistalled/reinstalled adapter via Device Manager

2) Rebooted/powered down router

3) Updated router firmware

4) Rebooted PC

5) Stopped software firewall I run (Sygate)

any ideas/solutions please?

Check cables, connectors and sockets

Y done that, the PC in question is right next with short cable.

Wonder whether it is the cable and worth swapping?

Check Lan Card Setting

Right click on Local Area Connection Display Icon on task bar

Click Status-General-Properties

At the top of display the type of Lan card will be displayed

Click Configure-Click-Advanced Tab

Click- Flow Control-Change to Enabled if Disabled

Click-Power Management Tab

Untick if selected "Allow Computer to turn this device off to save power

Network Connection Setting

Click-Start- Setting-Network Connection-New Connection Wizard

Select-Connect to the Internet-Next

Select-Set Up My Connection Manually-Next

Select-Connect using a broadband connection that is always on

Next-Finish

thanks done all that with the exception of the power as this option hot available
