WinXP/DirectX9.0/GForce4MX440 compatability

I use Windows XP and my PC has MX440 graphics card. I bought a Sidewinder 3 joystick and followed the instuctions, downloading and installing DirectX9.0 from the website. Then I read in the graphics card league table> in PC Advisor that this graphics card will support DirectX8.0. Will the DirectX9.0 work ok with the MX440 or should I have installed DirectX8.0?

GF2 MX440 of GF4 MX440 ?

If the card still works OK you will probably be alright.

Dx9 can't be uninstalled anyway so you'll probably have to live with it regardless.

You might need the 41.09 Nvidia drivers as these are designed to work with DirectX9.0.

Thanks for the responses. The card is GF4 MX440.
There dont seem to be any detrimental effects to the graphics performance.
