WinServer 2003 vs Vista ASP site problem

  cornwall 11:34 21 May 08

I have recently downloaded a forum from click here to add to my web site. The forum is made up of asp pages of which I am not familiar.

I have got the site working and running under localhost on a WinServer2003 running IIS 6 in my office.

However, when I try to get the site up and running on my home PC (running Vista IIS 7) under localhost so that I can undertake some minor amendments, and establish the base data, I am continually enconutering HTTP 500 errors which advise that the website is under maintenance or offline. However, I have one standard htm page on this site, and this loads without problem.

Any assistance/comments greatly appreciated

You will need to change the default AppPool in IIS7 to use "classic ASP" (i.e. asp.net2), by default it is set to use ASP.Net3
