winkey stuck on windows 7

  RamiRx 10:48 15 Mar 10

I use Toshiba a200-1cr which came with vista but I made a clean windows 7 installation.

It was very challenging to acquire the missing drivers but i managed it.

the only problem is that winkey always pressed by the system therefore activating shortcuts so I have no way of using the keyboard since many letters associated with winkey

I doupt having worm or virus since I made scanning with uptodate AVG
I tried to create dword nowinkey and set it to one in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
but still no result , i couldn't find the same path in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE therefore i had no way to create similar value

I poped up the winkey and it is physically clean and normal

and yes it started on win 7 not vista
Thanks in advance

Try this.
1: Open 'on screen' keyboard which is in the accessories/accessibility menu.
2: Press the 'on screen windows key'.

I can't guarantee it will work - but worth a try.

this problem doesn't happen when I boot into safe mode so I guess it is triggered by a software

You could start by looking at your applications which run at start-up if you haven't already tried it.

Run MSCONFIG and un-tick programs that load at the start - one by one - (restart after each process) - you might just find the "culprit"
