Windows XPHome Networking problems

I am having problems networking three PCs using the home/small business networking wizard. the wizard runs fine, but does not find anything on the network. I suspect a faulty hub. Any experiences or ideas would be appreciated.

A quick check on the hub can be done by using the ping command from the C prompt. First find out the IP address of one system (do this by typing Ipconfig at the prompt on that machine) then type Ping ???.???.???.??? from another machine (where ??? is the IP address of the first machine). You should get a reply showing no lost packets if the hub is working.

Adding to m73john, you could ping the computers by substituting the IP adres with the computer name(when loading windows for the first time you get the opportunity to name the PC).
