windows xp sudden shutdown

  killer7 17:47 04 Jul 05

I have experienced some stange problems with windows xp professional over the past few days, like not detecting a floppy disk to dvd discs and control panel not being detected to Window hangs. But by far the worse thing happened today was a complete computer shutdown with no warning or alerts what so ever. I have no idea what might have caused this. This has never happened before. My system specs are as follows:

Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 motherboard
Intel pentium 4 @ 3.2GHz prescott
2x 512mb pc3200 ram
Gigabyte 3d rocket pro cooler
400 watts PSU
BT voyager 205 ADSL router
100 gb harddrive
Sapphire All in wonder 9800 pro 128mb graphics card

I have ran AVG and Ad aware but nothing was found. My windows are upto date and so is my sound and graphic drivers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
