Windows XP Start Menu

Not really a problem, but something I noticed.

I have just rebuilt two PCs with Windows XP Professional and I noticed that the items placed on the Start Menu when they were first booted into Windows were different. One of them had Network Connections displayed as a Connect To menu, but the other one didn't show it at all. However, the second PC showed My Network Places on the Start Menu.

Any ideas why it configured it differently?

One is using the Classic start menu and the other is using the XP start meuu.

You chhose which one and tell XP how you and what you want to displayed.

Right click taskbar > Properties > Stat Menu > Customize to add/remove things from the start menu > You can take it from there.

When I was using win98 and installed it on a number of ocasions it would always install something different to the last time. I could never work out why.

Both are using the XP Start Menu.

I realise that I can customize them; I just found it interesting that they were installed differently. These were both clean installations.
