Windows XP Shutdown Revisited.

  PeterB 13:49 17 Jan 04

Ihave a Pentium 4 with an Intel D850GB motherboard and have recently upgraded to XP (with Service Pack 1) from ME. I am suffering the same shutdown problems as pevious members, ie VDU indicates Log Off, Saving Settings and finally Shut Down. Mouse freezes and system remains on. To shut down the OFF button needs to be held in for about 3 seconds. I have a laptop that works correctly and have checked all settings against this and can find no differences. Do I have a problem with the motherboard?
Can anyone help.
Thanks in anticipation.
