On starting up my pc in windows home edition XP a printer request is called but I have no printer attached to PC or do I have one I wish to install one. How do I find out how to stop my system doing this.

What happens when t pops up do you just close it? If so try and follow the install through, and when it doesn't find one it should stop at that stage. Go into Device manager and see if there is any ? or ! near the devices.
