Hi, i have 2 questions to pose to you all.

1. Is it illegal to lend a recovery CD to

caught the enter button

Carrying on...

1. Is it illegal to lend a recovery CD to a friend who needs to reinstall windows but has his own Serial Key.

2. I have had to use my recovery CD to reformat my laptop and the activation key failed to activate (it is a genuine copy as it has the sticker on the laptop) so i ended up contacting microsoft but what happens if i need to reinstall again? Do i just contact Microsoft again to activate windows?

Thanks in advance
Apologies for the accidental press of the enter button.

The recovery cd is for your laptop only, your friend will have a different motherboard/graphics/drivers, a different configuration, so propably it would not work.
