windows xp pro wont load and just reboots

hi, today I started my pc and it got so far and where it would usually come up with the windows desktop it displayed a blue screen for under a second before the system automatically restarted and the same thing happens each time.

I am able to get into safe mode, but not into the normal mode. Because that blue screen is up for so short a time I dont know what it said but i picked out "NO_M...." at the top.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I have been led to believe you can some times use the recovery consol to fix problems like this.

any help most welcome

try tapping F8 on start up and sellect last known good configuration.

did that with no luck. What fixed the problem was to boot from the cd, select reinstall windows, then choose repair.

It looks like it reinstalls the system files but all your data and programs work. You will need to do all your windows updates again though.
