This is not a re-booting on shutdown problem,
the computer just randomly turns itself off whenever it pleases and then reboots

You need to stop it from rebooting on errors to do this do a properties on "my computer" then click on the "advanced" tab then click "start up and recovery" "settings" then Under "system failure" take the tick out of "automatically restart" then apply/ok and reboot, when the problem happens again instead of rebooting itself it should show the "Blue screen" with an indication of the error(to get out of this you will have to "reset" your pc) from experience it sounds as though there is a software/driver conflict, what you need to work out is what did you do immediately prior to this problem starting, try looking in your "event viewer""applications" and "System" logs,if you are unsure how to do this get back here and someone will point you in the right direction
