Windows xp Pro installation fails

Installation always fails precisely at the same place. That is when it says 'installing devices and when there was approcimately 34 minutes to go'. The blue screen always come up at this point and i had no choice but to retry to reinstal again. So far had failed 3 times. i even tried a clean install by reformat the hard disk.

Note: I am trying to reinstall xp on another spare hard disk, with every piece of hardware untouched. XP runs fine on the current hard disk.

Does anybody knows why this happen?

What does the blue screen say?

Take out all the hardware and only leave in the bare bones for the installation, like ram, harddrive, cdrom ect.

You may be having a hardware conflict, which can often be the case. Just remove as much as you can, then reset the CMOS, and disable in the BIOS the Virus Boot Sectorprotection utility...these things seem to help me.
