Windows XP - Playing music

In Windows XP when you have a folder for music one of the options on the left is 'play all'. When i click on this all that happens is an egg timer appears for a second then disappears and the tracks in the folder aren't opened. Can any one help?

If you haven't used the folder for storing music files then it won't..:-)

Do you have Windows Media Player9 (XP version)? You've probably stored your files there in Media Library.

Never saw that one. It doesn't happen on my machine, but if you have winamp installed just go to Edit/Select all and then right click on a music file and a popup will open with options for you. Choose the most appropriate option for you. I know this isn't quite what you wanted, but it does work well.
