Windows XP - PC Reboots after Hibernation

Can anyone offer advice on how to rectify this please? Whilst I have not knowingly done anything to the PC recently - when I place the PC into hibernation it shuts down as usual but NOW, within 10 seconds or so it switches itself back on!! To get it to stay off I have to press and hold down the Power on/off switch just after it has re-started. Surprisingly, though, when the PC is switched back on after this it does not have to fully re-boot as it recognises that it has been placed in hibernation!

I'm operating Windows XP Home Edition - fully updated with all available patches.

Never come across this on before!!
