Windows XP logon screen.

I don't know what I did or what happened, but ecver since last week when I start my PC it gets to a blue screen that invites me to click on my user name to gt my 'personal settings' intalled. This seems to take about 2 mins as the icons slowly appear on screen and the task bar thingies get loaded.

Now, as I am the only user of My PC, how do I get back to my original sitiation wher I turn on the PC and it goes through its stuff and arrives at a ready-to-use position?

I'm sure it's very simple but I am loathe to alter something and screw up the system.

Sigh> I did prefer Win 3.1 or OS2.
