Ok people. You've helped me before so many times to great success but this problem is really bugging me. Hope someone can shine some light on my situation. I'm installing XP on a new system. I changed the bios setting so it would boot from cdrom but it didn't, so I decided to download the XP startup disks and boot from floppy. This worked fine and I formatted the disk to NTFS. Windows started to load with the installation files and then thats when I received my error message. It read Fatal Error - Syntax Error in manifest or policy file "E:\I386\6000\msft\windows\common\controls\controls.man". I've tried again and again formatting and partitioning different ways but still to no avail. Please I need some help.............

As Nappy1610 says the error code is telling you that the problem is with the cd if E: is your cd drive as that is the start of the error address, if its not dirty or scratched take it back to the shop you bought it from, as there may be a manufacturing fault within the cd.
