Windows XP Home unable to view AVI video file

I have recently bought a Samsung Digimax 420 camera. I have taken a mini-video but am having problems viewing it. There is sound, but no picture. I have tried opening the AVI file up in Windows Media Player (I have latest version) and Realplayer (again, latest version). Could something be blocking me? I am able to view other media player/realplayer files, but not taken by the camera.

The camera has been checked and is working properly. I have also tried using a different lead and tried another brand new software programme (in case it was faulty), but no change.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you make sure that your firewall is not blocking Media Player from accessing the Internet then try opening the file and Media Player should locate and download the codec for you.
