I am trying to install Win XP Home Full SP2 on a Compaq Evo N410c. I have tried mulptiple times and the install has started but stopped at various places and the Compaq powered off. At times I have gotten pretty far but have not been able to complete the install. Any suggestions please?

Are there any error messages given during or after the installation attempt? Was there a previous installation? Have you completely wiped the hard drive prior to the installation attempt?

Is your installation disk perfectly clean?

The disk is clean as is the hard drive. I just as far as the install copying the setup files to the install folder (53% complete) and the system powered off.

I do not get any error messages. The system just powers off. The previous version was Win XP Pro but the hard drive was wiped clean.

Thank you...thank you...thank you. On the off chance, I cleaned the install CD again and Windows installed fine. Best regards.
