I am new to xp and I am led to beleave that it has its own Fire Wall, is this correct?
yes there isyou will find it in start>control panel>network and internet connections, now click on network connections, you will now see your connection.Right click on your connection, select properties and then the advanced tab.If your firewall is enabled it will have a tick in the boxIf you do not have a firewall then make sure the box is tickedmadboy33
Unless it has been updated recently, it only stops incoming traffic, not outgoing traffic. While it's better than nothing, you would be better installing something like the free version of Zonealarm from click here which works well with XP.
If you follow the GOOD advice to install another firewall, whether it be free or paid for, (I prefer Norton Personal Firewall), you MUST disable the XP firewall before installation.
