I've just started to use the fax facility with Windows XP. When i go to send a fax it asks when to send it (Now, When discount rates apply, or later). Does Win XP Fax charge you for sending faxes across my phone line?

It doesn`t charge directly but the phone company charge you while you are on line ;-)

oh, because i am on broadband and i send the fax through my 56k modem instead of my router.

Yeah cos it has to dial up to send the fax

Sending faxes whether by standalone fax machine or PC is just like making a voice phone call. It depends on your telephone provider what the call charges are. I am on NTL cable and my telephone charges are 3p peak times, 2p off peak and 1p weekends (all per minute).

The costs would be listed on your normal telephone bill.
