I have just had to re install windows xp on my pc and do not know my admin password. I do not have a password reset disk. Is there a way to get around this problem ? I cannot phone my computer provider as they have gone bankrupt and the windows was already installed on the system.

Have you ever set a password? Have you tried leaving the box blank and clicking OK?

I'll leave my new found powers for more needing matters ;-)

Was this is a repair installation?

I think you may need to do a reformat and reinstall.

Best to post a response to the thread so all can see what's happening.

Do you have a full Windows XP CD?

Does this mean I lose evrything that was on the harddrisk if I reformat.

Yes, everything. You will need to start again with a clean install of your O/S [Operating system]. j.
