had to reformat my pc today. wiped everything off the harddrive and was hoping i could just load windows xp back on. now its coming up ntldr is missing on boot up whats happend

of a computer trying to boot from the floppy drive, rather than from the CD.

You may need to enter your machine's BIOS settings and set the CD drive as the first boot device. If you're not sure how to do this post back here, and one of us will help.

we have got into bios and weve gone to bios features setup and we have gone to boot sequence. its sez it will boot from cd rom but it dosent seem 2 want to boot from the cd rom

If you watch the screen as it boots up it may say press a key to boot from CDROM.

"sez it will boot from" but have you set it to boot from CD Rom first then put the the windows disc in the drive and reboot.

You don't have to "wipe the disc clean" first with XP it will give you the option to format the drive during installation if you get this far choose yes format to NTFS.

lauren2006 once windows has loaded do not forget to install the motherboard drivers before anything else or it may not work properly.
