hi can anyone tell me is there any difference between anpgrade and full versions once installed

An upgrade should update you to the same degree that a full new installation will do.

Some applications are more strict than others about what is/is not, an upgrade.
If you already have a lesser version there will be no trouble

Some that come with a manual (becoming rare) will not include another manual for the upgrade.

Sorry I missed the point!

Specifically XP should do what you want.
I guess that if you ever wanted to reformat and start again, you would have to install the earlier version of windows first.

The only possible concern with some upgrades, is that you may find them at the same price to that of an OEM product, depending how and where you get the upgrade from.
