windows won't remember my network password

  riddley 21:30 11 Feb 03

I'm using outlook 2002 on Windows xp and whenever I click send and receive to check for emails I'm asked for my network password. Each time I tick the box to say I want it to remember my password, but it makes no difference. I've been into my email settings, and the 'remember password' box is also checked in there, so I'm at a loss to know what to do. Any ideas?

Sometimes theres a far less tech approach needed that usual, you could just right down all the settings and then remove the account. You would just then have re-create the account.

Launch Microsoft Outlook.

From the Tools menu, choose Accounts . The Internet Accounts window will appear.

Select the Mail tab.

Select your mail account from the list and choose the Remove button.

Recreate the mail account.

NP Chris - I'm sure your approach is worth trying first, and it has every chance of being succesful :)
