Windows Vista updates error 8007000b

I receive error code 8007000b when trying to install updates.This tells me that the windows file system transction log has been corrupted.They tell me to go to Command Prompt,then run as Administrator and type in fsutil resoure setautoreset true C:\. and restart computer.............................Ihave actioned this to no affect. Can anyone help!!

1)Boot Vista from DVD,
2)Click to repair installation (or something like that)
3)Run prompt command
4)start chkdsk /f in the volume where is installed Vista (C:\)
5)Then restart Vista from HD and try to update

But make sure that you disable ALL antivirus and antimalware prior to using the cmd prompt command.

Don't forget to reenable them after re-boot.

This from another forum.

All You have to do is open Command Prompt as the System Admin and type:
fsutil resource setautoreset C: and restart your computer and try to update
again.
