Windows Vista - IE Removed? - Comp Freezes

I tried to look through some previous threads that addressed a similar problem, but I still wasn't able to solve it. Basically what happened was that I tried to remove my Internet Explorer from the computer, I guess I deleted the shortcuts, and some other stuff (don't really know what).

All I know is that my computer will free everytime a internet explorer window opens up. So if I'm on FireFox, and a popup comes up, I feel my mouse not moving, I looked to the bottom, and then a small IE window opens and it freezes my computer. I need to shut it off and restart it. This has been happening all the time, at least once or twice a day. I tried to reinstall Internet Explorer, but it says that its already on my computer. Is there a program I can do to fix this? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Can you do a system restore. To before you made the changes.
