Just installed Norton Internet Security 2005 and have had nothing but problems since. System crashes without warning and seems incredibly slow. Ran Dr Watson which came up with --------------------
Windows KB891711 component has altered Windows system files.

Module Name: KB891711.EXE
Description: Windows KB891711 component
Version: 4.10.2223
Product: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Operating System
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

Any ideas? Is this even my problem? Everything worked fine before so it would seem to indicate the new installation is at fault. Running Win 98.

Why not get rid of NIS and go for the free options -Avast, Sygate and MailWasher all work well and are all free.

Lots of problems with Norton. Just type Norton into the search box to see.

Get rid of it and use all the freely available alternatives.

AVG, Adaware, Spybot, Spywareblaster, Zonealarm etc.
