When I boot my pc up I get a blue screen with the word "Welcome" on it which hanges for 30 to 60 secounds before windows XP loads
How would I go about deleting/altering this "welcome" page so that I would decreese my boot up time

You can change the Welcome Page but it doesn't speed up the loading of your computer. You can stop some programs loading which you don't need to load on boot by going to Start/Run/ type msconfig and untick any programs you don't need to boot. Tuneup Utilities is one program that will change the Welcome screen among a lot of other things, but it is not free although not expensive. It is a great program and I think you can try it free for 30 days. I believe there is some freeware here
