My operating OS is windows xp pro.

Although the pc is shut down properly, the windows always starts with checkdisk (CHKDSK) running when the pc is turned on.This is very annoying.
How can I stop checkdisk running to get windows start normally.

Many thanks fot the help.

Sorry I realise you are on XP not Vista.

Assuming the drive is Drive C:, go to Start > Run and type in:

CMD

and click OK, when the command window opens, type in:

chkntfs /x c:

and press the <Return> key on your keyboard.

Reboot your PC and it shouldn't run chkdsk again.

Then open the Command window again and type:

Chkdsk /f /r C:

and press the <Return> key.
