Windows "splash" screen

About 50% of the time I boot up, I do not get the windows "splash" screen (Windows XP Professional SP2) just a blank screen until the log on screen appears. All is well either way and it has never failed to open, also boot time does not seem to be affected but I am concerned in case this is indicative of a potential problem.

Thanks VOG this link shows me how to disable the splash screen and display drivers on start up but my question though is why it sometimes doesn't display but other times (randomly) does.

I am only concerned if this is pointing to a potential problem, otherwise I will ignore it.
