My computer has suddenly started to restart on its own, after I have clicked onto "turn off computer" and it says "saving your settings" etc.and "windows is closing down" and looks as though it is going to do it. The screen goes black and the computer starts loading up again "of it own freewill".
Could somebody please help me.Thank you in anticipation,
sincerely,
kwpearson.

Which OS?

You are not hitting Restart by any chance?

If it's Windows 98SE, then Microsoft has a Shutdown patch available.
