Windows Security Centre

Hi! Just a quick question...

I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my Toshiba Equim A60 Laptop. Every other time I boot up, I get the bubble from the security centre telling me that my computer is at risk - the one with the red circle with the white cross in it.

Firstly, I have a anti-virus programme - FPROT which is very good.

Secondly, I have installed this on my desktop PC and marked in the security centre that 'I have another programme that I'll monitor myself' option. No probs there, it doesn't appear at every other logon.

Despite doing this on the laptop the balloon still appears - any ideas how to burst it and permenantly?

Open up the security centre and click on change the way security centre alerts me.

In the window that opens remove the ticks from the boxes and click ok.

Thanks to both of you -

Gandalf - your method worked fine

Sidecar Sid - I've tried your method hundreds of times and the cursed thing still kept appearing!

It's burst now for good!

The balloons no longer appear!

However, the red circle and white cross still do

And the 'pop' noise still sounds.

The balloons are gone, but the fault remains.

Any ideas?
