Can you not boot into Windows?

  spikeychris 21:30 26 Jan 05

Totally depends on what version you are running. scanreg /fix will sort the problem on a 9X system and sfc /scannow on 2K & XP

Start > Run and type cmd

Type inside the command window

"sfc /scannow"

Windows ME opens up ok but the message remains on the screen even if I press OK and the computer re-boots.

Im not sure if you can with ME but with 98 you could pick a regestry date to restore,i think it saves the last five days clean boots, but like i said i dont know if ME does this.,but have you tried a system restore?

System Restore to before this started happening.

scanreg /fix into the run box will fix it.
