my windows xp is not recognising any mp3 player as removable storage, but as an extra disk drive, I can only get into by going to my computer and right clicking onto manage and disk management and giving it a drive letter, so its really frustrating! please help!

which MP3 players are you trying to connect?
Assume you've tried installing any management software they came with?

Sounds weird tho, I have XP pro, recognises everything as soon as it goes in the usb port

Do you have USB 2 or the slower USB 1 ports?

been tried with different mp3 players, with and without disks that came with them even though these arn't needed with xp, should justy be plug n' play. not sure what usb ports they are but have tried ones on the front and the back to no avail.

It use to work ok, can't do system restore as i already restored windows to try and sort it out but again, to no avail.
