Windows not loading

  ingatestonian 14:11 05 Jul 06

I can't load Windows XP at the moment. I get the error screen with the options to load normally, safe mode etc but all options fail and return to the same screen. On trying normal load there is a nano-second flash of the blue screen but it is impossible to read. Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas for recovering? Thanks for any help.

Install the Recovery console to your HD (or use it from the WinXP CD if you prefer) click here for instructions, boot to the recovery console and try the fixmbr and fixboot commands one at a time.

Thanks for your help. For the benefit of anyone with a similar problem it was solved after I ran CHKDSK in recovery and then chose last configuration that worked option.
