Windows no longer prompts for a password!

A few months ago I installed a load of anti-spyware software. One asked me to enter my windows login for when it did a reboot after a scan. My computer now boots up without asking for a password! I have uninstalled all the previous ASW software and tried changing my password and disabling it and re-enabling it with a new password again. If I log out I need my password to log back in but I could just as easily restart it and it would log me in anyway! I share my computer so this is causing a bit of a problem for me. I am running xp in case you haven't guessed. Please help me

Start, Run, type in

control userpasswords2

and click OK. Tick 'Users must enter a username and password to use this computer'.
