windows minidump message after crash

  rômanab 16:36 26 Jun 04

I wonder if anyone can help? A friend of mine from work has a problem with his pc, whenever he uses internet explorer(6)his moniter goes blank and then his pc restarts, this can happen after varying amounts of time and only, he assures me, while using IE. After it has restarted he is told his C: drive is being checked for errors and then recieves the message:

C:\DOCUME~1\his name\LOCALS~Temp\WER1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

If anyone could shed some light on this he would be very gratefull as he knows less about pc's than I do (yes that person exists):o)

Regards r.

the minidump is info about process in play during the crash and if you send error report to msoft this is what is transmitted. delete them they just take up space.

Repair Internet Explorer explanation click here

In XP tpye sfc /scannow in run box with XP CD in drive
