Windows Messenger Service....

  wotbus@ 08:43 17 Sep 03

Windows XP.
Each time I boot up I get a message saying "You are signed out of .net services because you signed in somewhere else". I have 2 but slightly different Messenger icons in the tray = I think one is MSN and the other Windows. They appear to be argueing for priority!! but when activated both appear to be the same. Have I got 2 messenger services of different versions or something and how do I sort them out? I only want one.

It is poss that you do have two, msn 4.7 that shipps with windows XP and you may have downloaded msn v6. This does not upgrade version 4.7 hence having 2.

I reckon that's it. When I downloaded 6 I assumed it would update the other. Is it OK to take 4.7 out or is the build required for 6 - bit confusing isnt it!
