Windows messenger removal from PC

  pimpers 14:21 11 Jul 07

I want to remove windows messenger from my PC.

I do not use it but it has somehow loaded onto my PC. It shows up in my systems tray and I have removed it from my start up options but it still comes back.

This does not show up in the add/remove section of the control panel but I have removed it several times from the programe files. Yes it returns again.

msmsgs.exe is the programe which I want to remove. Does any other programe use this while its running?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks robbiepaul79.

After posting I remembered this so I have unticked them.

For reference. Go to add remove programes in control panel. Click on remove windows components and un-tick messenger and click out.

Job done.

Look in Administrative Tools/Services for Windows Messenger. It has dependancies of the following: NETBIOS Interface, Plug and Play, Remote Procedure Call (RPC) & Workstation. You can just disable it from the Properties box.
