Windows media player9 - privacy

Just wondering if anyone can help, this driving me nuts.

In 'Tools'> 'Options'> 'Privacy', the 2 options for 'Retrieve media information for CDs and DVDs from the internet' and 'Update my music files (WMA and MP3 files) et etc... are greyed out and I canot find any way to enable it.

When I try and find information about an album or track, an error message states 'You must change privacy settings in Tools Options etc etc..'

I have checked internet connection, internet options, firewall with no luck.

I have reinstalled with no luck. Have upgraded to media player 10 with no luck.

Is there something blindingly obvious that I have missed?

Any help appreciated.

With thanks 'remind'. Have since tried that with no luck. options are still greyed out.

Should have mentioned earlier, am using XP SP2 if that helps out.
