Windows Media Player v10

I "updated" WMP 9.0 and that resulted in my having WMP 10 on my new pc.

However, I find Version 10 is glitchy and am having to often revert pc to an earlier restore point to get it to play mp3 music, which is a bind. Not aware of any fixes for this. Version 9.0 seemed better.

Is there any way I can get back to Version 9?

If I download Version 9 from oldversion.com and install that will it appear as a separate program or is it just as likely to make matters worse?

I know I could use Winamp or some other player instead but like the ease of use of WMP (when it works!)
