WIndows Media Player sound problem

Windows XP Prof with SP2 installed. Windows Media Player 6 and most other videa viewing software fine, but WMP v10 & v11 both have no sound. Same with all types of video file; .avi, .mpg, .wmv. Not a major problem, although I would like to crack it.

Two basic things to check.

WMP's mute button is not activated, & Mute is not activated in Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Volume tab.

On my PC (WinXP Pro), sometimes for no apparent reason just after bootup Mute is activated in Sounds & Audio Devices. G

Yep! That's got it. The reason. To switch to full screen is <alt><enter> and to switch sound off is <enter>. Easy to do and not to spot. Must have been like that for some time.
