When looking at the Auto playlists in windows media player I have noticed it uses a program called Smart Play List 1.0.0.0.

Having a quick search on the internet I can find references to Smart Play List but they all seem to be linked to Ipods.

Is the program available and how do I use it in conjunction with Media player.

If you create your own playlist you have to select the songs, whereas I want media player to update the playlist each time I use it.

Auto Playlists are updated every time you open them.

A full description is, in fact, given in the Help files. Key in Auto Playlists.

The help says:

Click Media Library.
Click the Playlists button, and then click New Auto Playlist.

When I do this I get no option for New Auto Playlist only Playlists, this is also the same with edit.

I have checked for an update for Media Player but it says I have the latest version.

Latest version is WMP10 - it's been out since August 26th or 27th and I downloaded it on the 27th. SP2 only installs an updated version of WMP9.
