I've had to reload Windows and everything seems OK now.

When I play a mediw file through Windows Media howvever the quality is nothing like what it was and the screen is so dark that I can hardly see it.

How do I adjust it please?

WMP's View>Enhancements>Video Settings

You'll find all the other Enhancement features from the same source.

And what video link would that be?

The link you provide is a basic BBC sports page on football.

Sounds like you may have to find the graphics drivers
for either the motherboard or graphics card (if one is fitted ).

At present you may be getting a Microsoft jobby version of the drivers.
Have a look in the Device Manager for the listed Display Adapter.
What are you using WMPlayer 9,10 or the latest 11?
