Windows Media Player problem

  kingstreeguy 00:36 08 Nov 05

I recently upgraded my Internet service to DSL from dialup. Since then, Windows Media Player (v. just throws up an error message: C00D1197: Cannot Play File. The Microsoft instructions suggest making settings in the network tab (accessed via Tools>Options). I rolled back to WMP v. 6, which I previously ran. Videos used to work fine, but this time the earlier version doesn't work either. I run Win 98SE on a HP Pavilion 6553 (400MHz Celeron w/128Mb RAM).
Nobody seems to have any answers to this problem.

BTW... I forgot to mention the "Network" tab appears disabled and cannot be accessed.
