Windows Media Player not working.

I'm trying to use windows media player 9.0 but when I start it I get a grey box saying "AN INTERNAL APPLICATION ERROR HAS OCCURED"

I have been to the micrsoft site and downloaded the application again and tried to install it which it did. After installation and options had been chosen it tried to start the player but again the grey box and message.

Has anyone any idea how to fix this?

Thanks

There's a MS patch mentioned for this problem in this forum click here

If downloading the patch doesn't work then maybe try uninstalling any other plugins or other codecs you have on your machine to see if one of those is the problem.
