My windows media player will not play AVI files saying they are either corrupt or unsupported. I know they are not currupt as other players play them and WMP says it supports AVI. I understand I may need a "codec", if so which one and where should it be installed?

divX codec click here and Xvid codec click here

when you install the divX codec, you can deselect the divX player, you just need the codec.

download the file, then double-click it to install.
